Inspired by the peaceful elegance of Japanese gardens, Koi invites players to create a beautiful ornamental pond filled with the colourful carp known in Japan as “swimming flowers.” In Japanese culture, koi are seen as living jewels and symbols of perseverance, virtue, luck, and success. Your goal is to design the most harmonious environment for these stunning fish while building a pond that is both beautiful and strategically rewarding.

In Koi, players construct an authentic three-dimensional pond using layered tiles and decorative elements. As the game unfolds, you’ll carefully shape your tranquil environment, adding koi and ornamental features while making the most of the actions available to you. The challenge lies in balancing strategy and creativity to craft the most impressive and serene pond.

Each turn revolves around two key actions. By choosing to Meditate, you can draw cards, earn coins, and acquire new koi from the market. Alternatively, you can Work, using your Sensei’s unique abilities to place tiles and develop your pond’s layout. As the game progresses, you’ll complete evolving objectives, unlock additional features, and enhance your pond with striking 3D elements such as bridges and lanterns.

From the creators of Bonsai, Koi offers a calming yet strategic tabletop experience where no two ponds will ever be the same. The game also includes a robust solo mode, allowing players to enjoy a peaceful session of mindful planning and design on their own.
