Description
Saboteur — Dwarven Gold Hunt
3–10 players | 30 minutes | Ages 8+
Overview: You’re a dwarf tunneller racing to reach hidden gold—except some among you are saboteurs bent on wrecking the mine. Roles are secret each round; miners must cooperatively build a continuous tunnel from the Start to one of three face‑down Goal cards while saboteurs subtly block progress. After three rounds the dwarf with the most gold wins.
How it plays:
- Secret roles dealt with Dwarf cards: Miner or Saboteur (revealed only at round end).
- Layout: one Start card, three Goal cards placed seven path cards away with one card gap between goals; only one Goal hides the gold.
- On your turn choose one: play a Path card (must connect matching tunnels and not rotate sideways), play an Action card in front of any player (help, hinder, or gain info), or pass.
- If a Path played reaches the gold, miners win that round; if the gold is unreachable when the draw deck is exhausted, saboteurs win. Gold cards are awarded accordingly.
- Play three rounds; highest total gold wins the game.
Why you’ll love it:
- Tense hidden‑role deduction with simple card mechanics
- Strong bluffing and social deduction elements—sabotage must be subtle or saboteurs are exposed
- Quick rounds, great for parties and family game nights
