Leviathan Wilds is a critically acclaimed solo and cooperative board game that plunges players into epic boss battles, climbing and saving enormous creatures that once ravaged the world. Long ago, these gentle leviathans lost their minds and tore the land apart. After generations of hiding, humanity has discovered that these frenzied giants can be restored, but only the bravest climbers dare to venture into the wilds and attempt to shatter the binding crystals that maintain their madness.

In Leviathan Wilds, 1 to 4 players face 17 colossal leviathans, each uniquely illustrated and represented across the pages of a spiral-bound storybook that doubles as the game board. The book also supports a connected campaign mode featuring twenty story-driven scenarios, with each estimated to last around 45 minutes. Players can adjust the difficulty for an added challenge and replayability, making every ascent a tense and thrilling experience.

Each player builds a deck by combining one unique character with one unique class, creating a personalized strategy and playstyle. These multi-use cards allow characters to climb, jump, glide, and perform special actions while also tracking their grip on the leviathan. Running out of cards represents losing grip, forcing a fall until the player reaches a rest space, which resets their deck. Moving to rest spaces strategically can prevent falls and restore control, while other spaces may reduce health, grip, or impose blight, a status effect that lowers hit points.

The leviathans themselves are formidable opponents with their own decks of event cards, triggering attacks, moving players, or loosening grips at the start of each turn. As the game progresses, the leviathan gains rage, increasing the intensity of its attacks and keeping players on edge. Players move across a square grid overlaid on the creature’s body by spending action points determined by their cards. Their ultimate goal is to reach and destroy the binding crystals, each with varying strength, and reduce them to zero to heal the leviathan and win the game.
