Description
Duel of Meloch (Scythe vs Expeditions) is a standalone dueling game set in the Scythe universe for 1–2 players, with a typical playtime of about 45 minutes and a recommended age of 14+. The contest pits a new Duel of Meloch Scythe faction against an Expeditions character; players race to place stars on a compact map while using unique faction abilities and streamlined combat. Owners of the base Scythe or Expeditions games can mix components: the Duel faction and its parts are compatible with Scythe, and Expeditions characters and items can be used in compatible ways across the systems.
The box provides full component sets so both modes are playable without needing other products. Scythe-side components include a concise rule summary, 20 resource tokens, three Factory cards, 60 redesigned combat cards, six encounter cards, five miniatures, 31 wooden tokens, faction and player mats, a Power Dial, plus an alliance token and a home base tile (which aren’t used in Duel). The Expeditions-side kit contains its own rule summary, a Power Dial, 12 corruption tokens, 15 workers, 30 discovery cards, three starting cards, one mech miniature with snap-on base, eight wooden tokens, and a mech mat.
Shared (global) components consist of a double-sided rubber playmat, 20 cardboard coins, nine map tokens, a double-sided Triumph Track, 10 Meloch cards, a Tournament of Meloch sheet, a full rulebook and appendix, and a compact game box measuring 310 × 192 × 73 mm. Solo play is supported with dedicated content: a progress track tile, a Triumph Track overlay tile, 20 Automa cards, six phase cards, four double-sided player aids, and a solo rulebook.
For collectors and organizers, the publisher lists detailed card counts and recommended sleeve sizes: 9 cards at 70 × 110 mm, 64 cards at 57 × 87 mm, and 69 cards at 63 × 88 mm. Overall, Duel of Meloch delivers a compact, cross-compatible duel experience with full component support for both Scythe and Expeditions fans, plus a complete solo system and careful component organization for collectors.
