Spot It – LOTR

Spot it! The Lord of the Rings plays almost exactly like the classic Spot it! game, with a Middle-earth twist layered over the familiar, fast-paced gameplay. Each card features eight different symbols, and while the symbols change in size from card to card, there is always exactly one symbol in common between any two cards.

In the standard game, two cards are revealed at once. Players race to be the first to spot the single matching symbol shared by both cards. The fastest player claims one of the cards, another card is revealed, and the search continues. Play moves quickly as cards are claimed one by one, and when the deck is exhausted, the player who has collected the most cards is declared the winner.

What sets Spot it! The Lord of the Rings apart from the original is the inclusion of a mysterious 56th card: the One Ring. While its presence adds an extra thematic layer to the game, its exact rules are not immediately clear—fittingly, they are said to be “invisible” for now—leaving players to discover its purpose as part of the experience.
