Gameplay:
Star Realms combines the strategic depth of a deck-building game with the speed and interactivity of a Trading Card Game. Players take on the role of fleet commanders, acquiring Ships and Bases to generate Trade (to acquire new cards) and Combat (to attack opponents). The objective is to reduce your opponent’s Authority to zero, thereby winning the game.

Cards belong to four factions, each with unique abilities. Many cards include Ally effects, which reward players for combining cards of the same faction strategically.

Key mechanics include:

• Trade & Combat: Use Trade to purchase new Ships and Bases; use Combat to attack opponent Authority or destroy their Bases.

• Base Management: Bases remain in play and can be used each turn, while Outposts must be destroyed before directly attacking opponent Authority.

• Deck-Building: Newly acquired cards are added to your discard pile, later shuffled into your deck for strategic long-term planning.

• Tactical Decisions: Players constantly face choices such as whether to take the most powerful card for themselves, deny their opponent, or pursue faction synergies.
