Description
Matter Matters — Card Game of Equilibrium
2-4 Players | 20 Mins | Ages 8+
Play as a scientist balancing matter and antimatter: preserve colour equilibrium to score, or lose points if your collections are unbalanced. Each round players play tricks by choosing a suit colour (black or white) and the highest value in that colour wins the trick; equal counts of black and white tricks score positively, mismatched counts score negatively.
- Mechanic: Hand management, trick-taking with a colour-choice twist
- Cards: 36 dual-suit cards (each card shows black and white values that add to 37; e.g., 11 black + 26 white)
- Setup & play: Deal the deck evenly. Leader plays a card and names a suit colour; others play a card. Highest value in the named colour wins the trick and records its colour. Winner leads next trick.
- Scoring: After all tricks, if your collected black and white trick counts are equal you score +N (N = number of tricks collected); if unequal you score −N. Play multiple rounds; highest cumulative score wins.
